JAMMU, Dec 19: Sikh United Front today expressed serious concern over some vested elements dragging the name of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch into politics despite the fact that Dera is non-political and is only working for the upliftment of all communities in general and Sikhs in particular.
Addressing a press conference, Avtar Singh Khalsa, general secretary of Sikh United Front J&K said, “vested elements are dragging the name of Dera Nangali Sahib in the politics ahead of last phase of Assembly polls despite the fact that Dera has not extended any support to any candidate”.
“Sikhs will not allow the name of Dera to be exploited for anybody’s political gains and Sikh community is free to exercise their franchise according to their wishes”, said Khalsa, who was accompanied by Joginder Singh Inqulabi and Mohinder Singh, Chief Organisor Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society.
These organizations have also denied that any letter of support or any announcement in any Gurdwara to favour any particular candidate or party has been issued.
