JAMMU, May 21:  State unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)  has alleged that minority Sikh community is being ignored by the Government in the J&K State.
Addressing press conference here today senior SAD (B) leaders Surinder Singh Wazir and Rajinder Singh said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal unit J&K is deeply pained to place a bitter fact before the people of the State that for the last more than 30 years, not  even a single member from Sikh community has ever been recommended for appointment as a judge in the J&K High Court  by any of the previous governments, which is clear indication of sheer neglect  and injustice meted out to the nationalist community by successive Governments.
These leaders    pointed out that SAD -Badal was in the fore front to support the ruling alliance in the last Assembly elections with the hope that the interests of the community shall be safe guarded. Moreover, the BJP had promised that due share of the community shall be given in all respects. And it was declared by several senior BJP leaders before elections.
But it was most disappointing to note that none of the issues concerning Sikh community have been addressed so far, with the result there is a strong resentment among Sikh masses in general  and youth in particular and continuous neglect of the community will further alienate the Sikh masses, they added.
SAD (B) J&K unit strongly demanded that name of a member from Sikh community be included in the panel for appointment  as Judge in J&K High Court, as there is no dearth of honest and competent candidates in the Sikh community.
