JAMMU, June 21: Sikh Sangat of Jammu has urged the State Government to dismiss the present District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu, which even after completion of its tenure, has been working.
The Sangat condemned DGPC for not increasing the wages of Regis, Granthis and Sewadars, who even had protested for 20 days in favour of their demands outside Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar.
The issue was raised in a meeting of Sikh Sangat held here at Nanak Nagar under the chairmanship of Gurcharan Singh.
The meeting alleged that that DGPC Jammu has failed to tackle the religious problems of Sikh Sangat and is misusing the Gurudwara funds in different courts by way of litigation.
The Sangat strongly demanded State Law Department to handover the charge of DGPC Jammu to newly nominated DGPC vide article 63-C of J&K State Gurudwara endowment vide order No 375 of November 19, 2011.
Inder Singh, Raghbir Singh, Kuldip Singh, Santokh Singh, Kirpal Singh and Darshan Singh were among many others who attended the meeting.
