SAMBA, Sept 13: All Sikh Sangat district Samba today held a protest demonstration and took out a procession demanding inclusion of Dogri as official language in J&K.
The program was organized under the supervision of All Sikh Sangat in which the members of District Samba Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee in large number participated. They also held a rally from Vijaypur Gurdwara to Matador Stand Vijaypur and demanded inclusion of Punjabi among the official languages of J&K.
The protestors said that the Kashmiri language, Dogri and other languages have been given respect with their inclusion as official languages of J&K and Punjabi which is not only the mother tongue of Sikh community but also spoken by a large number of non Sikhs all over Northern India has been given step mother’s treatment. They demanded that Punjabi should also get the status of official language because besides, India it is spoken globally and is also one of the richest and civilized languages which has the honour of being mother of many languages.
Gurdeep Singh, Amaratpal Singh, Bachan Singh, Tara Singh, Sucha Singh, Maan Singh, Rajindra Singh, Pyara Singh, Sagar Singh, Avtar Singh, Samparn Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Mohinder Singh, Kulvir Singh etc participated in the demonstration..
