Sikhs got justice, real honour under Modi Govt: Nalwa

JAMMU, Feb 29: Stating that the Sikhs in the Jammu and Kashmir UT and other parts of the country have got justice and real honour under Narendra Modi Government, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Minority Morcha president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, said that for the first time India has a PM who displayed serious concern and pain for this community.
Ranjodh Singh Nalwa while addressing a meeting of Minority Morcha said that a glance at what has been done in this regard, will itself convince anyone that Sikhs have got fair deal by the Union Government from 2014 to 2024. He said that the list is too long and those targeting BJP to mislead the community will not succeed in their misinformation campaign.
The BJP leader said that the sacred Guru Granth Sahib to India from Afghanistan was brought with full honour and respect by Modi Government. This Government granted citizenship to Sikh brothers through the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The Modi Government took effective steps for opening of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor so that the Sikh community can pay their obeisance to Guru Nanak Dev in Kartarpur Gurudwara Sahib, which was not possible during 70 years of the Congress rule.
It has been Modi Government which implemented Anand Marriage Act in Jammu and Kashmir as it was a long pending demand of the community. The Modi Government declared the martyrdom day of Sahibzadas, to be commemorated as Bal Divas.
Nalwa further shared that Modi Government exempted GST on Langars organized in Golden Temple and elsewhere, it started special flight between Amritsar and Nanded, train between Amritsar and Hazoor Saheb, Cable car for Hemkunth Saheb in Uttarakhand, Guru Nanak Dev Chair was set up in Jammu University during Modi rule, 750 bed hospital was established by Modi Government in Jamnagar in memory of Guru Govind Singh. It sanctioned and provided huge funds for the celebration of the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev and rupees 100 crore for 350th birthday of Guru Govind Singh.
“It has been the Narendra Modi Government which punished the culprits of 1984 genocide of Sikhs in New Delhi and other places’, he said and added that no other party or government expressed such pain for the murder of thousands of Sikhs and uprooting of their families.
