Sikhs protest for punishment to 1984 riots accused

JAMMU, Oct 31: Demanding severe punishment to former Member of Parliament Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler, Kamal Nath and other Congress leaders for their alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh genocide, the members of National Sikh Front held a protest demonstration, here today.
Led by the Front chairman S Varinderjeet Singh, the protesters assembled opposite Gurdwara Ashram, Digiana and shouted slogans against the Congress leaders.
“It is sad and tragic that the worst genocide of 1984 closure has not seen the light of the day. The wide perception  that Government  has played a direct or indirect role in doing everything to protect those who were responsible for it, is only getting reconfirmed,” alleged Varinderjeet Singh while addressing the protesters.
The other speakers appealed people of the country, irrespective of the political affiliation and religion, to come forward and help the Sikh community to get justice.
Those who addressed the protesters included S Bhatti, Gurdyal Singh Balli, Kuldeep Singh, Karnal Singh, Narinderpal Singh Toni, Amarjit Singh, Paramjit Singh and Harmeet Singh.
