Srinagar, Nov 14: Sikhs today held a protest demonstration in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district against Government for ignoring their long pending demands including extension of Minority Status.
The protest was part of the agitation started by All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) to press Coalition Government to accept its demands. During the protest, Sikhs raised slogans in favors of early implementation of their demands, during which it was unanimously decided that more intensified protest will be held in all parts of State if present State Government played delaying tactic as done before.
APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said now Sikhs of the state “will not tolerate injustice to the community in term of jobs, Minority Status, and filing of vacant posts in Punjabi language. “If State and Central Government did not take early initiative to resolve it, then this protest will be intensified at all levels,” he said.
