NEW DELHI, May 30: Amid a weakening trend overseas, silver prices fell by 0.14 per cent to Rs 40,071 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 58, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 40,071 per kg in business turnover of 45 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 45, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 39,974 per kg in business volume of 880 lots.
In the international market, silver traded 0.32 per cent lower at USD 18.98 an ounce in Singapore.
Market analysts said a weak trend in precious metals in the global markets as an improving US economy reduced appeal of the precious metals, weighed on silver futures here. (PTI)
