NEW DELHI, July 21: Silver prices edged higher by 0.32 per cent to Rs 45,895 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December gained Rs 147, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 45,895 per kg in a business turnover of 11 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 136, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 45,070 per kg in 478 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators, buoyed by a firm global trend, influenced prices of the precious metal at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.10 per cent to USD 20.89 an ounce in Singapore. (PTI)
