JAMMU, June 20 : Accusing the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir Government of failing to tackle price rise, scams and crisis in water and power, State BJP today appealed to its workers to ensure success of the nation-wide fill-the-jail stir on June 22.
“The party at the national level has decided to observe June 22 as ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ day when party activists will court arrest at district levels in the country against failure of the UPA Government on all fronts,” State BJP chief Shamsher Singh Manhas said here today.
He appealed to party workers to come out in large numbers and court arrest in Jammu and other places in the State.
Manhas said BJP Mahila Morcha National President and Member Parliament Simriti Irani will court arrest here.
Manhas, accompanied by State general secretary Sat Sharma (C.A), Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta and senior leader Bansi Lal Bharti, chaired meetings in various wards of Jammu East and Janipur mandal .
A party handout issued here later said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is also suffering on account of price-rise of essential commodities, unscheduled power cuts and irregular supply of drinking water and the June 22 Jail Bharo will also be observance of protest against all these problems. The Party has appealed the general public to come out in large numbers and court arrests along with the BJP activists as the issues being protested are related to each and every citizen.
Usha Choudhary, Kavinder Gupta, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Arun Chhibber, Pardeep Sharma, Karan Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Kuldeep Kandhari, Praduman Singh, Priya Sethi, Rajni Sethi, Dinesh Gupta, Arun Sethi, Vijay Sharma, Amreek Singh and Yashpal Gupta were present in these meetings.
