Singh inaugurates intra-regional cultural meet of Power Grid

Artists performing during a cultural programme organised by Power Grid at Jammu on Saturday.
JAMMU, Oct 27: A heart throbbing presentation by budding artists from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir, H.P, Punjab & Haryana, attired in colorful dresses marked the celebration of annual intra-regional cultural festival organized by Power Grid Corporation of India, Northern Region -II Jammu at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium here today.
S.C Singh, Executive Director, Northern Region Transmission System- II was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Mrs Kiran Singh, Patron Srishti Mahila Samiti NRTS-II was the guest of honour.
Mr Singh inaugurated the cultural meet whereas Mrs Singh inaugurated the handicrafts exhibition.
The cultural programmes were show-cased on hot burning issues like, environment, unity in diversity, safety & Anti Corruption.
All the items in the programme, successfully managed to depict their themes from Enekta Me Ekta by young artists of Abullapur Sub-Station, Hamara Pariavarn by the artists of Kishenpur Sub-Station, Lagu Natak by the artists of Kartarpur Sub-Station, Pariavarn Bachho by Bhadurgarh Sub-Station, Enekta Me Ekta by the artists of Moga Sub-Station, Barshatachar Ne Desh Ko Kahah Poncha Diya by artists of Malerkotla Sub-Station, Barshtachar Ki Sunami by artists of Hisar To Swasth Vatavaran Surukshit Jeevan by the troupe of Regional Office Jammu, kept the audience spell bound.
Besides a traditional handicrafts exhibition comprising crafts, arts, & fine arts, was displayed which had been made by the employees of Power Grid and their families.
S. K. Sharma, General Manager (Projects) NR-II, K.R. Suri, General Manager (O&M), Sunil Agarwal, General Manager (PSTCL) and other senior officers of the Corporation welcomed the guests.
At the end of function winners as well as participants of cultural function were presented trophies & mementos by the chief guest and in Handicrafts Exhibition the participants whose items were selected as the first, second & third were also given away prizes by S.C. Singh.
Stanley Mathews, Chief Manager (HR), NRTS-II gave the welcome address and also presented vote of thanks.
