JAMMU, Mar 15: Social worker and former SSP Bhupinder Singh today visited Baspur village of RS Pura and interacted with the people.
While addressing the villagers, Mr Singh said, “at the time of Independence, Mahatma Gandhi called upon the youth to participate actively in the freedom movement. Young leaders came to his reckoning and led the movement”.
“Youth of modern India are aware of the problems facing the country like corruption, mis-governance, vote-bank politics and policy paralysis and given a chance they would be ready to change the political condition of the country for better”, he said.  Mr Singh, however, regretted that young people are not given opportunities to prove themselves.
“I am happy to note that there is an increased awareness among people / youth this time and I am hopeful of change”, he said, adding “youth must participate in the biggest ever democratic exercise and play crucial role in shaping destiny of the country”.
