UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: A two-day singing workshop was organised by Apna Dogri Channel Trust Jammu and Kashmir in Shivalik College of Education .
This was a power pack training program for those contestants who have passed the online audition of Voice of Duggar, Season- 2 and now they are preparing for mega audition. 38 singers from almost all the districts of Jammu province participated in the singing workshop.
During the workshop, the participants learnt various techniques of Riyaz, song selection, deciding scale and pitch. They learnt smart skills and competition strategies to score better. Moreover, they learnt to beautify their performance through right pronunciation, feel and improvisation.
HoD Music Deptt, GCW Parade Jammu, Dr Jasmeet Kour; HoD Music Deptt, GDC Udhampur and renowned musician Ustad Arun Soofi; Principal, Shivalik College of Education, Dr Vikram Gulati and ADC chief Devendra Thakur were the master trainers.
A mock drill was given to participants by VOD Director Rahul Sharma in which renowned singer Rakesh Jamwal, ADC Chairperson Rekha Thakur, ADC Udhampur District Head Jyoti Jamwal and Ustad Arun Soofi played a big role.
In valedictory function, former minister Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest. He appreciated the initiative of Apna Dogri Channel Trust and assured every possible support for this noble cause.
Renowned historian and writer, Padam Shree Shiv Nirmohi was the guest of honour. He said that Devika Nagari Udhampur is a cultural centre of Duggar Pradesh since Pauranik age. Udhampur is the heart of Duggar that’s why some scholars call it cultural capital of Duggar Pradesh, he added.
Valedictory function was chaired by Subhash Chander Sharma, Chairman of VOD Management Committee. He appealed to all the residents of Jammu province to come forward to support this common cause.
The program was hosted by VOD Management Committee General Secretary Sandeep Khajuria and supported by Happy Model School Foundation Udhampur.
Renowned writer Kusum Antra, Hindu Jagran Manch District Head Udhampur Rohit Sethi, social activist Virender Badyal, cultural activist Sushma Rani and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
