BUDGAM, Aug 16: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various developmental projects worth more than Rs 40 crore for district Budgam today.

He also e-inaugurated 40 works and schemes worth Rs 101.66 Crore of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Smart City Limited, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Srinagar Smart City Limited, Directorate of Urban Local Bodies and J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority, and laid stone of 6 projects worth Rs. 26.25 Crore of Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, Jammu and Urban Local Bodies.
Sinha inaugurated and dedicated the accommodation for PRI members worth Rs 6.41 cr at Sheikhpora to PRIs of District today. The major initiative is aimed at strengthening of PRI institutions at grass root level and providing safe and secure accommodation to the PRIs.
Panchayat Ghars at Pohru-A, Chattergam-B, Zoolwa, Panzan-B, Kechwari-C, Badipora and Dreygam inaugurated today will provide facility for the Panchayat (the local self-government body) to conduct its meetings, make decisions, and oversee the implementation of development projects at the village level.
Community Toilet Units at Charar-i-sharief shrine will facilitate the devotees visiting the shrine. Receiving Station at Aripanthan at a cost of Rs. 6.34 cr inaugurated today will meet the long pending demand of the people of areas of Aripanthan, Gambora, Palpora, Larkipora, Warihama, Hazipora, Bamrood, Arzabjigund, Kandhama, Gund Gamboora and Gund, providing reliable power supply to the consumers, an official handout said.
The Lt Governor also inaugurated the Water Supply Schemes KhasiporaChowdribagh, Area Kremshore-Dreygam, Sub Division Khansahib and Sheer Check and Sub Division Charar-i-Sharief Area Pakherpora.
Projects for which foundation stone was laid by Lt Governor at Budgam includes: Community hall at Transit Accommodation Sheikhpora, development of Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall as Centre of Skill Development & Training and Truss Girder Bridge at TakiyabalKanigund.
The development of Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall as center of Skill Development & Training will benefit youth of the District in the field of skilling and training in various sectors.
The Construction of 3×35 mtr Truss Girder Bridge at TakiyabalKanigund at the project cost of Rs.13.65 cr under RIDF XXIX will meet the long pending demand of people of Beerwah and Khag. It will also provide an alternative route to the newly developed tourist destination Toshamaidan as well.
Details of projects to cities and J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority include Development of Green Space in Ward No 50, Chhanni Himmat, Upgradation of footpath along with drain left and right side of Marble Market Road, development of green space in ward no-52, Development of green space at Kunjwani & Deep Nagar Near Gurudwara Ward No-55.
Construction of footpath and Development of Green Space along with canal in Gangyal, Length 550 mtr. W. No. 56, IT initiative for monitoring and ensuring transparency and accountability with better process control and human resource management, junction improvement in Jammu City Phase-I, development landscaping greening and installation of fountain At Amar Singh College.
Construction of Municipal Office /Shopping complex at Bus stand Arnia Phase-I, Construction of Shopping Complex at New Bus Stand Samba, Construction of Community Hall at W.No. 4 Samba, Construction of Shopping Complex near CHC Ramgarh, Constt. of Children Park & open-Air Gym at SarnalK. Proad (MC Anantnag), Development of office complex in MC Pahalgam, Construction of fountains in Pahalgam, Construction Of Slaughter House at Batapora Shopian, Development of park at Gund Kareem Khan W. No:08 by way of open-air gym at Wattergam.
