JAMMU, Feb 19: Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo replying to a clubbed Calling Attention Notice of Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Syed Asgar Ali regarding the mysterious death of B-Tech Student Mehraj Khalid Mintoo of Doda studying in Riyat Bara College of Engineering and Technology, Hoshiarpur Punjab, said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Home/ Police Department has deputed a special team headed by SP, Abdul Rouf to coordinate with the Punjab Police for speedy investigation of the case.
He said family members of the deceased are also accompanying the special team. The Minister further informed that Principal Secretary Home has also separately taken up the matter with the Financial Commissioner Home Affairs, Punjab Government and requested him for constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) so that fair and speedy investigation is carried out. The matter is being pursued vigorously with the authorities of Punjab at the highest level, the Minister added.
