SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that the situation in Kashmir is far from normal and accused the Government of misleading the people regarding it.
Speaking to reporters here in Srinagar, Abdullah said that the situation in Kashmir is not normal. “The situation is far from normal, and we all know this. Why is the Government misleading the people regarding the situation? Only the Government can answer this question,” he added.

The NC vice president requested the Government to speak the truth about the situation in Kashmir.
“I wish these targeted attacks would stop. We are extremely saddened by these attacks, and we condemn them. We also request that the Government at least speak the truth. We keep hearing statements from them that the situation is normal or has improved, but whenever the Government makes such statements, we see more of these targeted attacks. Sometimes, police personnel are attacked, and other times, civilians are targeted,” he said.
Asked about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, Omar said opposition parties and leaders are paying the price for doing politics.
“What is new in that? Which opposition leader or opposition party is there that has not received such summons? There have been such summons before as well and they will come in the future also. You have to pay a price for doing politics, especially the opposition here. This is not something new,” he said.
He said Kejriwal is not the first leader in the AAP who will face this as other leaders of the party have also been summoned before.
“Their Deputy CM is still in custody. We only hope that Kejriwal will return home in the evening after the questioning,” he added.
