JAMMU, Nov 29: In order to equip Ayush Health and Wellness Centers (AHWCs) with highly skilled and proficient Yoga Instructors, a 6-day practical training workshop for Yoga Instructors was inaugurated today in the premises of Yogashram, Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan Gole Gujral.
The workshop is being organized by Directorate of AYUSH J&K in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. These Yoga Instructors after training and certification would be deployed at different Ayush Health and Wellness Centers across J&K. It is notable that these Yoga Instructors were already trained through virtual mode by the technical experts from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi.
Director AYUSH J&K, Dr Mohan Singh formally inaugurated the workshop by lightening of holy lamp and yoga prayer. In his address, Dr Mohan Singh emphasized that Yoga Instructor must learn the finest skills of Yoga so that they may better serve the communities in the disease prevention and health promotion. He advised Yoga trainees to be diligent and focused on their Yoga Certification Board Examination which will authenticate their identity as a Yoga Trainer all around the nation and after which they would be employed in Wellness industry.
It is pertinent to mention here that these yoga trainees would be trained by an expert team led by Seema Sagar, Assistant Research Officer and comprising Lalit and Amrita from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. This workshop will be followed by YCB certification.
In all 84 Yoga trainees from different districts of Jammu Division are attending the workshop in the calm and serene environment of Yoga Ashram of Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan. The inaugural program was also attended by other officers of the AYUSH Department viz. Assistant Director HQ Dr Rakesh Raina, Accounts Officer Durga Dass, District AYUSH Officer Jammu Dr Suresh Kumar and Medical Superintendent Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu Dr Vandana Dogra.
