Six injured in clash between two groups

JAMMU, July 14: Six persons of two groups were injured today in a clash in Narwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, six persons received injuries this evening at Yard No 4, Narwal when two groups engaged in a scuffle and attacked each other with sharp edged weapons, base ball sticks and also opened fire with a licensed pistol.
“The clash broke out between two groups over car repairing following the bill issued by the spare part shop owners in Narwal area here this evening,’’ he said, adding, the party, who had been served bill by the spare part shop owners, objected to bill, which led to scuffle. Later, both the parties attacked each other with sharp edged weapons and one of them also opened fire with a pistol.
In the clash, Hardeep Singh (40) and Amardeep Singh, both sons of Davinder Singh (38), resident of Digiana Camp and Harjeet Singh (45) son of Harbans Singh, resident of Digiana Camp, received bullet injuries. While, Hardeep received injury on left thigh, Amardeep got injuries on right side of his abdomen and Harjeet Singh suffered injuries on right side of his mouth.
Ravi Kumar (22) son of Ramesh Lal, resident of RS Pura and Pritam Singh (62) son of Babu Singh and Aman Singh (25) son of Pritam Singh, both residents of Marh, got injuries with sharp edged weapon (sword). Ravi Kumar and Pritam Singh received injuries on their left hands while Aman Singh suffered injuries on right hand and left side of his head.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, wherefrom Ravi Kumar was discharged after providing first aid while other injured were still under treatment.
According to SDPO Narwal, Deputy SP Narwal, Arun Jamwal, a case has been registered in this connection under relevant sections at police station Trikuta Nagar and weapons (pistol and sword) used in the offence were recovered. Further investigations in the case were going on, he added.
