Six persons injured in road accidents

Srinagar, Oct 9: Six persons including two cops were injured in two separate road accidents in Baramulla and Kargil districts.
A police spokesman said an Alto car bearing registration number JK05A/8337 driven by Shabir Ahmed Bhat and a motorcycle driven by Umar Najar collided on National Highway near Police Station Baramulla, resulting in injuries to both the drivers.
“Two policemen identified as Head Constable Prem Nath number 19/IRP 13th Battalion and Head Constable Naik Ram number 111/IRP 13th Battalion who were on duty on the road were also injured in this accident. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment, wherefrom one of the injured persons Naik Ram was shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar for further treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The police spokesman said a tanker bearing registration number JK02-AD 5060 driven by Shiv Kumar met with an accident at Gumri in Drass area of Kargil district, resulting in injuries to tanker driver and a person namely Qabil Krishan. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Drass for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard.
