JAMMU, June 18: Aggrieved unemployed coaches today staged protest demonstration against the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) at Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar for delaying recruitment process for the last four years.
They were chanting slogans in favour of their demands and against nonchalant attitude of the Council.
In a statement issued here, they said that in August 2016, the Council had advertised nearly 40 posts of coaches in different sports discipline but till date, the Council has failed to complete the recruitment process.
“However, the Council had framed an interview committee, headed by then Secretary Sports Council in the last month of year 2016 but due to unknown reasons, the interview process was postponed,” they alleged, adding that since 2016, all the aspirants were moving from pillar to post but nothing has been done by the Council so far.
“The officials of the Council first deliberately misplaced the interview as well as recruitment records and now, the incumbent Secretary of the Council has requested the Law Department for seeking permission to cancel the said advertisement,” they alleged.
They said that they had filed a petition in the J&K High Court in April, 2019 against the department for delaying recruitment process. After hearing the matter, the court directed the department concerned to complete the recruitment process within four months but nothing has been done so far by the Council.
They appealed the Advisor to Lt Governor, K Vijay Kumar to initiate a departmental inquiry against the erring official for misplacing recruitment records and register an FIR against them.
