SKIMS clarifies CAG figures

JAMMU,  Apr 23:  Contesting the figures of CAG, the SKIMS, authorities Srinagar have claimed that Rs 813.31 crore amount mentioned as total budget allotment to the institute between 2007-12 and expenditure to the tune of   Rs 39 lakh on research work was not correct as appeared in the media reports.
While clarifying the reports, the SKIMS PRO said that under Five Year Plan only Rs 152.17 crore were sanctioned to SKIMS out of which Rs 142.97 crore stand utilized. He further claimed that not Rs 39 lakh but only Rs 27 lakh was sanctioned for the research work during this period, out of which Rs 25.50 lakh stands spent. Moreover, there was no budget allocation for the purpose during 2007-08 to the institute.  He claimed CAG/ media report regarding expenditure of Rs 39 lakh (0.04 %) on research work of  SKIMS as not factually correct.
