Srinagar, Dec 31: Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, has designated nodal officers for the State Cancer Institute (SCI) and the institute’s Maternity Hospital, aiming to improve the functioning of both.
The institute has also directed doctors and nurses who have not yet complied to register on the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR).
As per the directives issued in this regard, Prof. Aijaz Ahmad Malik, Head of the Department of General Surgery, SKIMS, will serve as the Nodal Officer for the SCI in addition to his existing duties.
Similarly, Prof. Irfan Robbani, from the Department of Radio-diagnosis, SKIMS, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the Maternity Hospital, SKIMS, Soura, alongside his current responsibilities.
The nodal officers have been tasked with overall supervision, including manpower requirements, and will assist the administration in handling administrative matters.
“All matters shall be routed to the administration through the nodal officers, who will also be responsible for making recommendations regarding any alterations, additions, or updates,” the directive stated.
According to SKIMS, this decision has been made in the interest of smooth administration and functioning of the State Cancer Institute and the Maternity Hospital, SKIMS, Soura. It follows discussions held with the Heads of Departments during the Dean’s Committee meeting on 07.09.2024.
Meanwhile, SKIMS has also issued directions for the completion of the Healthcare Professional Register (HPR) for public health institutions under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in J&K.
“It has been reported that the majority of the concerned staff at SKIMS have not registered with the Health Professional Registry to date and need to do so urgently,” SKIMS stated.
In this regard, all remaining staff-including doctors, nurses, and other allied health workers, whether regular or contractual-have been directed to register themselves with the Health Professional Registry (HPR) at the earliest.
