Srinagar, Dec 1: The authorities at SKIMS, Soura are sitting on the recruitment for various posts that were advertised way back in July 2020 as despite the passage of at least a year, the recruitment process stands halted with no development insight.
In this connection, scores of aspirants today held a protest demonstration against the SKIMS authorities demanding a final selection list and speeding up the recruitment process.
The aspirants said that several posts were advertised in July 2020 and after some gap, the examinations were held in December the same year, however, the aspirants said that it took authorities several months to put the merit list out.
“After the exam that was held in December last year, the merit list was finally put out in October after a gap of at least one year,” Javaid Ahmad, one of the aspirants said.
The aspirants said that due to the delay in the recruitment process, most of them are at the brink of crossing the age limit and are no longer eligible for Govt jobs.
“Few among them have already crossed the age limit and they will not be now able to apply for any Govt job,” the aspirants said, adding that the delay caused by the SKIMS authorities is adding to their anxiety.
There are at least 160 such candidates whose fate is hanging in balance due to the callousness of the SKIMS authorities in carrying forward the recruitment process.
“We fail to understand what is stopping them from putting the final list out when they have already put out the merit list,” the aspirants said while urging the authorities to look into the matter.
Excelsior tried to get the official version from SKIMS, however, the Additional Director SKIMS who is overlooking the recruitment process did not respond to repeated calls and messages.
