SRINAGAR, Dec 8: Dr Arshad Ahmad Pandith, Senior Scientist, Advanced Centre for Human Genetics, SKIMS received National Award in Science by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
The award was presented to him by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, last week.
The award comes as recognition to Dr Arshad Panditha’s contribution in the field of cancer research and genetic disease diagnostic services at SKIMS.
Dr Arshad Pandith did his Ph.D in Immunology and Molecular Medicine/Cancer biology from SKIMS University. Besides many awards to his credit, Dr Arshad has authored a book “Incidence and Role of Proto-oncogenes in Bladder Cancer in Kashmiri Population”. He has also many publications, published in national and international journals and two big ongoing research projects in SKIMS to his credit.
