SKK Founder Dr R R Khajuria passes away

JAMMU, Oct 9: The founder of the J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, Jammu, well known social activist and former Managing Director, Jammu Milk Scheme, Dr R R Khajuria, passed away this morning after a prolonged illness. He was 91.
Dr Khajuria is survived by his wife, two sons- Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria, Naresh Khajuria and a daughter and younger brother Inderjeet Khajuria.
Though he was a reputed veterinary Surgeon and rose to the position of MD Jammu Milk Supply Scheme, Dr Khajuria’s heart was towards unprivileged, destitute, disabled, and Deaf & Dumb children. In pursuit of his commitment, he set up a charitable society under the name of Samaj Kalyan Kendra in 1980 and later established a school for Deaf & Dumb children to provide free education.
Dr Khajuria also founded some other NGOs including Vichar Kranti Manch International, Savera (NSK High School), Confederation of Voluntary, Social & Charitable Organization. The President of India bestowed him with an award for social work.
His death was widely mourned in Jammu. A large number of people attended his cremation at Channi Himmat this evening. A wreath was laid on his mortal remains on behalf of Samaj Kayan Kendra by former President, Daya Sagar, Current President K B Jandial and others.
