JAMMU, June 12: Škoda Auto India is addressing the high demand for its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, by increasing the allocation for the Indian market.
The company sold out all the Kodiaq cars allocated for the year within a short period, indicating its popularity in India.
As a response to this demand, Škoda Auto has boosted supplies for 2023, aiming to expedite delivery times for customers. India has emerged as Škoda Auto’s third-largest market globally and the largest outside of Europe, surpassing Germany and the Czech Republic.
The 2023 Kodiaq comes with several notable upgrades. Its 2.0 TSI EVO engine has been fine-tuned to meet new emissions standards, resulting in a 4.2% improvement in efficiency. With 140 kW (190 PS) of power and 320 Nm of torque, the luxury 4×4 SUV achieves an impressive acceleration of 0-100 kph in just 7.8 seconds (claimed figure).
The addition of door-edge protectors ensures the prevention of dents and scratches by automatically deploying when the doors open. The rear spoiler now includes additional finlets to enhance aerodynamics. Interior improvements include a lounge step for rear passengers to rest their feet and outer headrests in the second row, increasing overall comfort.
The Kodiaq retains its reputation for exceptional on-road dynamics with features like Progressive Steering. This technology adapts the steering forces based on driving conditions and vehicle speed, providing effortless maneuverability at low speeds and improved control at higher speeds.
The first-in-segment Dynamic Chassis Control adds to the Kodiaq’s dynamics, offering six driving modes (Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sports, Snow, and Individual). Additionally, the suspension can be adjusted by 15 mm, and an off-road button enhances all-terrain capabilities.
Furthermore, the Kodiaq, alongside the Slavia and Kushaq models, completes Škoda Auto India’s lineup of crash-tested cars, all of which have achieved a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child protection.
