SKUAST, CUK VCs call on Governor

JAMMU, Mar 20: Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST)-Jammu, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Dr. Sharma briefed the Governor, who is the Chancellor of the University, about several issues relating to the next Convocation of the University which is scheduled to be held on April 8, 2015.
The Governor asked Dr. Sharma to personally pursue and ensure the very early establishment of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) which have already been sanctioned for the Jammu region. He also advised him to devote high priority to teaching and research activities in the Campus.
Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din, Incharge Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir also called on Governor.
The VC informed the Governor about the issues which are thwarting the early establishment of the new Campus of the University. The Governor suggested to Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din the usefulness of his having regular interactions with the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu and, besides, with the VCs of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities for securing mutually beneficial convergences.
