JAMMU, Aug 24: As the protest demonstration of the Non-Teaching Employees Association (NTEA) of SKUAST- Jammu entered into second day, the outstation members from Rajouri, Reasi, Poonch and other areas also joined the agitation.
The protesting employees raised slogans and demanded removal of the Registrar as well as a few other officers, who are allegedly responsible for prevailing chaos in SKUAST-Jammu.
While addressing the protesting employees, BN Singh, president of NTEA, alleged that a few officers and officials of the University were misleading the Vice Chancellor by suppressing the facts and getting wrong orders executed with his consent. “The Registrar has failed to handle establishment of the University and the present unrest is mainly because of him,” he said and alleged that the statutes, rules and regulations were manipulated by the Registrar to adjust to his requirements.
Zamir-ul-Haq, general secretary, said that the present crises can be resolved only by removing the Registrar and other officers who are also indicted in the Vigilance cases of abetting forgery. Moreover, they are hindrance in the fair enquiry conducted by the Vigilance Department against various irregularities conducted in the past,” he added.
K D Singh, senior vice-president, made an appeal to the Chancellor to replace the incumbent Registrar with some experienced administrator from the State Government to resolve the present crises which has taken an alarming state.
Leaders of Jammu University Non Gazetted Employees Union, including president Vijay Kumar, Suraj Prakash, Banarsi Dass, Kuldeep Sharma and others also took part in the protest demonstration also spoke in support of the ongoing agitation.
