KATHUA, Feb 7: Agromet Research Centre, SKUAST-Jammu, organized one day awareness programme on climate change and its impact on agriculture at village Pathwal in Hira Nagar, where Dr Bharat Bhusan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kathua was the chief guest.
The Additional DC motivated the farmers to take maximum advantage from such programmes as well as the services provided by the Agrometeorology SKUAST – J. He also advised the farmers to adopt new technology developed by scientists for maximizing their crop yield by manage weather related uncertainties in day to day agricultural operation in their field.
Dr Mahender Singh, Nodal Officer and Head, Agromet Research Centre, SKUAST – Jammu, highlighted role of medium range weather forecast in agricultural crops in rainfed as well as irrigated condition for managing farm operation in the area and weather based services provided by the centre.
