SKUAST-J organizes webinar on ‘Exploring Vet for Career Planning’

JAMMU, Oct 2: One day national webinar on “Exploring Vet: Interaction for Career Planning” under the ambit of IDP-National Agriculture Higher Education Project (NAHEP) SKUAST-Jammu.
Funded by World Bank and ICAR, New Delhi, the webinar was organized through virtual platform to sensitise the Veterinary students regarding entrepreneurship. More than 150 students were registered for the said programme. The talks were delivered by four eminent speakers taken from industry and also entrepreneur, who started early.
In his inaugural address, Prof J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, stressed upon the need to capitalise upon the meager land resources, need of the youth to innovate in livelihood security of the masses, and transform the Agriculture in to a way of life. He further narrated the importance of entrepreneurship orientation among the youth, as the land holding is shrinking. He expressed his view regarding the entrepreneurship avenue in value addition, branding, marketing etc.
Dr Rahul Srivastava, former Dy Director Sales, Marketing & Business Development, Hester Biosciences Ltd stressed upon the importance of self introspection, and realisation in order to actually map yourself and accordingly strengthen the weaknesses.
Dr Prashanth ATP, Director, Trieen Health Care Ltd, illuminated with his own journey of entrepreneurship and delivered thought provoking talk.
Dr Adarsh Tiwari, Entrepreneur and Technical Manager- North India, Serval India Nutrition Pvt Ltd, a fresh startup, stressed upon the importance of learning every day and enriching self to innovate and sustain in the market. He stressed upon the need of entrepreneurship and intra-preneurship and the scope for veterinarians unto horizon.
Dr Kundan Kumar, Technical Sales Manager (Dairy), Trouw Nutrition India, expressed his view and requirements to get in to an entrepreneurs shoe.
Earlier, Dr Neelesh Sharma, Organizing Secretary, expressed the very theme of IDP-NAHEP and the role of SKUAST-Jammu in terms of instigating the student in to highly skilled professional who could contribute to society.
Dr N K Pankaj, Co-Organizing secretary, presented the formal vote of thanks. Dr M S Bhadwal, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and whole IDP team including Dr B C Sharma, Coordinator; Dr Vikas Sharma, Associate Coordinator; Dr Manish Sharma, Nodal Officer; Dr R K Salgotra, Nodal Officer were present in the program.
