SKUAST-J Scientist gets Lifetime Achievement Award

JAMMU, Jan 19: Dr N P Thakur, Chief Scientist & Incharge, FSR Center of SKUAST-J, has been bestowed with Lifetime Achievement Award in an International Conference.
The award was presented during first International Agriculture Conference on Natural vs Organic Farming: in context to “Bharatiya Agriculture”, organized by Gujarat Natural Farming and Science University, Anand & Hindustan Agricultural Research Welfare Society and IIMTU, Meerut.
Dr N P Thakur received the award for his significant contribution to the farmer community with respect to doubling farmer income. Thakur has made a significant contribution to develop Karnal Technology and Bio-Drainage Technology to control Secondary salinization in canal irrigated areas under arid and semi-arid climatic conditions of India. These technologies are duly recognized by ICAR, New Delhi besides, also contributed significant role for developing a farmer-oriented climate smart integrated farming system live model of 1.0 hectare at SKUAST-J, Chatha for nutritional and livelihood security of small and marginal farmers of Jammu region.
