SKUAST-J Teaching Association discusses issues of faculty

JAMMU, Nov 30: A meeting of SKUAST – Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) was held under the chairmanship of its president Dr Vikas Sharma at Main Campus Chatha to discuss various issues pertaining to the development of varsity and the faculty.
The meeting, which was attended by all the HODs, I/c Research Stations and I/c KVKs,
unanimously expressed that as per the additions / amendments to SKUAST statues Notification 16 (Secy.) 2017 dated 19.07.2017, it is mandatory that in a calendar year the cases of promotions under CAS should be processed twice in the month of June & December and the scheme regarding promotion of hard hit cases to Associate Professor / Sr Scientist in 12 years should be implemented mutatis mutandis in the university as done recently in SKUAST-Kashmir as both Institutions are governed by the same statutes.
During the meeting it was impressed that no person should be allowed as Incharge for more than six months on the post of Dean, Director etc, strictly in accordance with the provisions of the SKUAST Act and direct selections for the teaching positions and the post of Dean, Directors, Registrar must be completed at the earliest for which the process has already been initiated.
Various other agendas like clearing of all pending transfer cases of scientists, preparation of discipline wise and inter seniority list of teachers, advertisement of vacant positions for SMS etc were also deliberated in the meeting for the overall welfare, better functioning and progress of farm university.
Dr Vikas Sharma informed the house that association was trying its level best to solve each and every problem related to the teaching fraternity and further assured that the issues would be taken up with competent authority and solved very soon.
Besides office bearers of SKUAST-TAJ namely Dr Vivak M Arya, Dr Rajeev Bharat, Dr Devinder Sharma, Dr Jai Kapoor, Dr Berjesh, Dr Rohit, Dr Brahma, Dr Anil Bhat, Dr Poonam Parihaar, the meeting was attended by Prof R K Gupta, Prof Anil Sharma, Prof V K Vali, Prof Rakesh Nanda, Prof Ramesh Bali, Prof A K Razdan, Prof K R Sharma, Prof Rajinder Peshin, Prof Sanjay Guleria, Prof Sanjay Kher, Prof Manish Sharma, Prof Jagmohan Singh, Prof K K Sood, Prof Hafeez Ahmed, Dr Vikas Tandon, Dr Mahital Jamwal and others.
