SKUAST-Jammu signs MoU with NBAIM (ICAR)

JAMMU, May 11: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Micro-organism (NBAIM) to promote research in frontier areas of science and exchange of faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof D K Arora, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu who is also a founder Director of the bureau, lauded the contributions of NBAIM in Indian Agriculture. He appreciated the niche areas of microbial research being initiated and the world quality infrastructure developed by NBIAM. He added that MoU will help in developing mutual trust and exploring possibilities for collaborative research in frontier areas in agriculture using microorganisms.
On this occasion, Dr A K Sharma, Director NBAIM said that the MoU will strengthen ties between the two institutions and help the students and faculty of SKUAST-J to take the advantage of facilities and know how available in NBAIM. He had all praise for Prof D K Arora for his keen interest in joint collaboration for furthering agricultural research to improve agricultural production in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that as a step forward in mutual collaboration, initially two projects will be sanctioned to SKUAST-Jammu under AMAAS.
