JAMMU, Feb 19: Awareness programme was organized by SKUAST Jammu in Nai Basti Songal area of Akhnoor to demonstrate the management of orchard soils entailing a use of Microbial inoculants adjunct to inorganic fertilizers for site specific nutrient Management under the project sponsored by HTMM, ICAR.
According to a SKUAST handout orchardists from different localities belonging to Akhnoor participated.
Sham Lal a prominent orchardist and Sarpanch of the locality, was also present and he emphasized on the need of such programmes in future.
Dr A K Bhat, Principal investigator of the project gave the importance of site specific nutrient management for sustainable fertility and productivity of orchard soils.
