SL receives over 200,000 foreign tourists in Jan

COLOMBO, Feb 1 : Over 200,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka in the first month of 2024, the latest statistics by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority showed.

The data showed 201,687 tourists have visited the country in January, with India, Russia, Germany, the United States, Britain, Australia, and China being the top source markets for tourists.

The South Asian country received 1,487,303 tourists in 2023, an increase of 106.6 percent from 2022, according to official data.

Tourism is one of Sri Lanka’s top foreign revenue generators, and the country aims to attract two million tourists in 2024. (UNI)
