MALWAN KULGAM, June 14: In a bid to generate employment avenues in far flung areas through industrialization, the Minister for Industries and Commerce S.S.Slathia today announced 18 new industrial estates, nine each in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions. These include industrial estates at Nudbagh-Khonmoh, Mehmood Abad Dooru, Waripora Tangmarg, Takia RazakShah Tral, Kunanposhpora Kupwara, Barpora Shopian, Government Match-Factory Baramulla and Danibal Ganderbal in Kashmir.
This was announced by the Minister at a gathering, after laying foundation stone of a new industrial estate at Malwan-Noorabad, a remote area in district Kulgam today
Mr. Slathia said that the industrial estate at Malwan will generate economic activities in this remote area and enjoined upon the youth to venture in the industrial sector in a big way for living a dignified life. He said the state’s industrial policy is one of the best industrial policies of the country which offers very attractive packages and incentives to the entrepreneurs.
Maintaining that industry is very important segment of state’s economy, Mr. Slathia said that Government provides 100 percent insurance cover to industrial units besides total income tax and VAT exemption, 100 percent subsidy on purchase of new DG Sets up to Rs 25 lakhs per unit, 100 percent subsidy of project report and toll tax exemption on import of raw material and export of finished products.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo highlighted the achievements of the present Government and said that such a massive development in the state has never been witnessed during last 40 years that has come up during the last 3 and a half years of the present Government. She said RTI act is a landmark initiative of the government to bring transparency and accountability in the administration. She said SKEWPY is another revolutionary step to provide employment avenues to the unemployed youth.
Ridiculing opposition PDP for exploitation sentiments of innocent youth, Ms Itoo said this party is politically bankrupt with no agenda. “This party has miserably failed to fulfill the promises made to the people during its tenure and was relying on lies,” Ms Sakina said, adding that PDP has always worked against the interests of Kashmiris.
Responding to the demands of the people, Ms. Itoo assured that work on WSS Malwan will be taken up shortly. She also announced to construct four bridges in the vicinity of Malwan to provide better road connectivity to the people.
