SAMBA, Aug 4: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur, Surjeet Singh Slathia accompanied by DDC Samba Mubarak Singh today distributed cheques/sewing machines to beneficiaries in awareness-cum -cheque distribution camp organized by Social Welfare Department, Samba at Vijaypur.
In the function 100 old age pension and 24 physically handicapped assistance cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries. Moreover 100 sewing machines were also distributed among the beneficiaries funded by the GoI under the special central assistance plan to SC.
While addressing the gathering, Slathia highlighted the State/ Centrally Sponsored Schemes and asked the people of the area to avail benefits of these schemes. He said that the State Government is committed to provide basic facilities at the door steps of the people particularly down trodden area besides ensuring equitable development of all the regions of the State, adding that the main attention has been given to up-gradation of the basic facilities.
He impressed upon the officers of Social Welfare Deptt. to aware the masses about different schemes of the department.
