VIJAYPUR, Nov 9: As a part of election campaign, National Conference candidate from Vijaypur constituency, Surjeet Singh Slathia today held a series of election meetings in Vijaypur, Dhollian, Channi Mohalla Lambardara, Ward No. 6 Bari Brahmana, Kothi Morh and sought people’s co-operation to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah for overall development of all the three regions of J&K State.
Slathia said that NC is committed to create better infrastructure facilities for the people of the area, especially those living in the remote and far-flung areas without any kind of discrimination and people must see the performance of Omar led Government for the last six years before going to the polling station. He said that many people of different political parties will come to make their claims but the people must realize the performance of the candidate on the ground while making the choice for their candidate in the Assembly election.
Addressing gathering, Slathia exhorted the people to extend their full support to National Conference, saying this will be support to the forward looking policies and programmes being implemented by Omar led Government for the last six years. He further said that there is a need for carrying forward the developmental activities in the J&K State especially in remote and border villages. He said that equitable development has been the main plank of National Conference and the party has ensured that people irrespective of region, religion and caste get equal opportunities of progress.
Slathia said that NC is the real secular and democratic political party which represents the urges and aspirations of the people of three regions of J&K State. But the defeated politicians and vested interests don’t want that National Conference should raise the people’s socio-political issues in the highest corridors of power at national and international fora and these elements are hell bent to weaken NC to throttle the voice of people but they will not succeed in their nefarious designs to divide the people as their double standards have been exposed, he added.
