Slathia tours border villages, inaugurates newly completed facilities

VIJAYPUR, May 3: The Minister for Industries, S S Slathia today visited  various far off  areas of his home constituency and took stock of the ongoing development works, besides inaugurating newly completed facilities including lanes and drains and other amenities.
The Minister also addressed a series of public meetings during his tour to the border areas.
At village Ramdu Bhramana, the Minister inaugurated newly constructed lanes and drains completed at a cost of Rs 8 lakh. With the inauguration of the lanes and drains, the long pending demand of the people of the  village with about two thousand populations has been fulfilled.  The Minister also instructed the Power Development Depart-ment to explore the possibility of shifting electric polls away from the village to roadside to avoid inconvenience to the villagers.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister also announced the construction of 700 meter road from main village to Devsathan and sanctioned Rs 2 Lakh for construction of community bathroom in the area.
At village Kamor, the Minister directed the concerned to take up the blacktopping work on the road leading to the village.
On the complaints of the locals, the Minister directed CEO Samba to post one more teacher in the local primary school and intimate him about the action taken and  also directed the PHE department to restore water supply to the village   snapped due to unknown reasons.
Addressing public meetings, the Minister reiterated that the Government was taking every step to meet the developmental aspirations of the border people, with special focus on improving trade and commerce. He said the State Government has taken up an ambitious border tourism promotion project to enable the local people to reap the benefits of this lucrative industry. He also asked the people to approach him with their problems and assured a quick and effective action.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Mr Mubarak Singh, CEO, EXENs PDD and PHE besides other officers accompanied the Minister during his tour.
