VIJAYPUR, Dec 7: Pledging to transform Vijaypur as a model constituency, former Minister and National Conference candidate Surjeet Singh Slathia today said a strong edifice has already been laid, which will be given big push in next six years. “We have traversed a long way in raising infrastructure but still much more is required to be done for making Vijaypur a model constituency”, Mr Slathia said while addressing several election meetings at Gurah Slathian, Bari Brahamana, Palli, Bassi, Smailpur, Gurah Gurdi, Meen Charkan, Dhiansar and Channi Kartholi.
Mr Slathia enumerated major initiatives taken during the past six years and said these will be further consolidated and new projects taken up for ensuring dependable power, water supply and irrigation facilities with special impetus on service sectors like health and education. He sought people’s whole-hearted support in this effort and urged them to remain vigilant from those who were creating obstacles in the developmental odyssey by inciting passions on regional and religious lines.
We will not allow such forces to raise their ugly heads and divide the society on the basis of caste, creed and colour”, he said while decrying BJP, PDP and Congress for pursuing opportunistic politics just to get glued to power by hook or crook.
Mr Slathia said the sagacious people of Vijaypur have given a befitting reply to inimical elements and hoped this time too they will close their ranks and foil their machinations in a big way.
