SLCA organizes program on ‘Drug Abuse’ for JU Law School students

JAMMU, Sept 19: JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency today organized one-day Awareness program for the students of Law School, University of Jammu on “Drug Education & Information” in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India.
The program was organized to aware students about the drugs/psychoactive substances, its harmful effects, different categories of drugs and preventive measures. Around 100 students participated in the program.
Dr Seema Rohmetra, Director of the Law School, University of Jammu, appreciated the efforts of team SLCA J&K for organizing this awareness program as J&K UT has now become vulnerable for drugs and programs like these are the need of an hour. She presented the warm welcome to resource persons, SLCA team and students.
Program initiated with the introduction of State Level Coordinating Agency and JKSPYM organization followed by the brief introduction about Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign (NMBA) by Pallavi Singh, Program Director, SLCA J&K.
Dr Vinay Kumar, Sr Assistant Professor from Deptt of Social Work, Central University of Jammu, presented the lecture and enlightened the participants about the “Drugs and drug addiction” with the help of Power Point presentation.
Resource person, Advocate Kapil Sharma from High Court of Jammu, presented a lecture on “NDPS Act.” Program included quiz, brainstorming activities, and interaction sessions with students.
Program concluded with the vote of thanks by Kimi Padhiar, SLCA official.
