JAMMU, Apr 11: Jammu & Kashmir State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Directorates of School Education Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have initiated a creative activity forum, “Activity Karo Na” to engage the children in constructive activities during the lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The objective of “Activity Karo Na” is to encourage young minds to maintain positive thinking besides fostering their creative skills. As part of this first of its kind venture, J&K State Legal Services Authority is organising online competitions and various activities for children of J&K and Ladakh between the age groups of 03-15 years under the theme “Activity Karo Na”.
The students in the age group of 03-06 years have been asked to exhibit their artistic skills by doing a painting, compose a poem on the topic “Save the Planet”. The students in the age group of 07-10 years have been asked to make a poster, write a short story (upto 300 words) or come up with a slogan on the topic “Advantages of Lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 Pandemic” or “COVID-19 Hygiene Practices”.
Moreover, students in the age group of 11-15 years have been asked to do photography or write an article or create a slogan on the topic “Preservation of Rich Heritage of our Composite Culture”.
The participants are expected to employ their personal creative and artistic skills in conducting the activity. The creative work and/or images can be sent on the links provided by the respective Directorates by or before 15.04.2020.
Evaluation of the entries shall be done after the lockdown period. Experts will judge on the basis of personal creativity of the participant and the understanding of the topic. Winners of each category shall be rewarded.
