Srinagar, Aug 21: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has suspended 5 officials pending an inquiry.
As per 3 separate orders that have been issued here by the Secretary, SMC, those suspended include Ilyas Ahmad Sheikh, Ward Officer, Nissar Ahmad Mir, Jr. Building Inspector, Nighat Ara, I/C Ward Officer, Hafizullah Parray, Building Inspector, and Nighat Jan, Sr Building Inspector.
As per the order, Syed Abul Qasim, Joint Commissioner (S), SMC has been appointed as Enquiry Officer into the allegations against Ilyas Ahmad Sheikh, Nissar Ahmad Mir and Nighat Jan.
At the same time, I/C Superintending Engineer, Drainage Circle SMC has been appointed as Enquiry Officer regarding allegations against Nighat Ara and Hafizullah Parray.
The inquiry officers, as per the orders available with Excelsior, have been asked to charge the suspended officials immediately and furnish a report with “clear remarks and recommendations.”
While no charges have been referred to, the officials, as per the orders, have been placed under suspension in terms of Rule 31(a) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
