JAMMU, Apr 7:  Dubbing National Conference leader Dr Farooq Abdullah as “chameleon”, who changes colours for personal political benefits , Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today observed that smelling yet another defeat in the elections, former Chief Minister is shamelessly indulged in raking up sentiments of the innocent people just for electoral gains.
In a joint statement issued here today, leaders of the PDP said that history is testimony to the fact that it was Dr Farooq Abdullah and other NC leaders who are responsible for the miseries of the people of the State in general and Kashmir valley in particular. “NC leadership has been exposed before the people for its wrongdoings, corrupt practices and misdeeds”, leaders stated and pointed out that in the 2014 Parliamentary elections and 2014 Assembly polls, people of Kashmir valley had taught NC a lesson for betraying and bartering their wishes and aspirations for lust of power.
They regretted that instead of accepting the reality, NC leadership has been indulged into raking up emotions of the gullible masses just for electoral gains. In an obvious reference towards recent statements of ex-Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, PDP leaders said that irresponsible utterance of Dr Abdullah was strongly condemnable and provocative.
They said that people of State never take Dr Abdullah seriously because he is notorious for speaking different language in Srinagar, Jammu and Delhi. “If one goes through the statements of Dr Farooq Abdullah during his political career, one can easily draw the conclusion that Dr Abdullah always behave like chameleon who changes his colour everyday”, the statement stated.
The PDP leaders termed Dr Farooq Abdullah’s remarks as “political opportunism” to befool the people. They, however, said that gone are the days when NC leaders used to hoodwink the people by speaking different language at different places.
