JAMMU, Nov 7: Shri Madan Lal Sharma Charitable Trust (SMLSCT) held its monthly meeting at village Jogwan in Khour.
The meeting was chaired by Trust chairperson, Satish Sharma and was attended by members of the Trust.
People in the meeting expressed dissatisfaction on the conduct of administration regarding the issue of compensation for damaged crops.
They said that farmers are worried about their future as they are not getting any financial assistance from the administration and they don’t even have resources to cultivate their next crop.
People of Kandi belt said that administration is only planning to give financial assistance for the loss of paddy crops but is not thinking about farmers of Kandi belt whose crops also got destroyed.
Speaking on the occasion Satish Sharma said that he met the concerned officers with demands like compensation of Rs. 5000 per kanal for destroyed crops, waiving off of KCC loans of six months, providing seeds and fertilizers for the next crops, free ration to the affected families for next six months and waiver in electricity bill of last six months.
He added that administration should work for fulfillment of these demands or be ready to face anger of the farmers.
During meeting, financial assistance was given to needy women including Nisha Devi, Vidya Devi, Pooja Devi and Jyoti Devi.
Cricket and Volleyball kits were distributed among youth of villages Kalah, Jogwan and Battal.
Kuldeep Verma, Ex-MoS; Naib Sarpanch, Tilak Raj; Rano Devi, Babu Ram, Master Ratan Lal, Prakash Chand, Sham Lal, Anil, Sanjeev, Jia Lal, Chandi, Ashok, Madan Lal and many others were also present in the meeting.
