SMMSDDT, Narayana Hospital hold daylong camp at Billawar

KATHUA, Apr 23: Over 1500 people were examined during the daylong medical camp organised here at PWD Guest House, Billawar.
The camp was organised by Shri Mal Mata Sukrala Devi Dharmik Trust (SMMSDDT) and Narayana Hospital.
As per a statement, Chand Kishore Sharma, Additional Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department, was the chief guest on the occasion while M Muthu Mathavan, Facility Director of Narayana Hospitals, Municipal Committee Chairman of Balotra, and other Panchayat members were the guests the honour.
It said that Dr Vikas Padha, senior orthopaedics, Narayana Hospital, Dr Shiv K Sharma, Dr Sushant Kumar, and Dr Sushant Jandyal examined over 1500 patients. Besides, ECG, Blood Sugar, BP, Uroflometry, X Ray, and various others tests were performed free-of-cost. Medicines were also distributed among the needy.
Speaking on the occasion, Chand Kumar Sharma, Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, said, “holding of medical camps is must to make the society disease-free. In such camps, a person is hard pressed to take care of him/herself during the daily busy routine.”
He said similar camps would be organised in other parts of the UT in order to spread awareness about various diseases, in the days to come. He hoped that philanthropic organizations like SMMSDDT would come forward in the future as well to help the elderly citizens, women, and children in particular, through the free medical check-up camps.
Tript Shastri, Chairman, Shri Mal Mata Sukarala Devi Dharmik Trust, expressed gratitude to the people for their participation in the camp.
He said purpose of holding such camps is to generate awareness on various diseases as also identifying such patients, who otherwise are unaware about health related problems and give them timely medicare.
He urged the people present on the occasion to seize every opportunity of health check-up and assured that such camps would be organised on a regular basis with an aim of serving the society.
Jatin Langar, Vice-President, SMMSDDT; Shubham Langar, General Secretary; Members Mohit Gupta, Sumit Verma, Vimal Mehra, among others were also present on the occasion.
