POONCH, Sept 27: The police arrested a smuggler along with 30 kg of poppy straw (Bukki) on Mughal Road near Bafliaz in Surankote today.
Official sources said that a police party from Behramgalla in Surankote during checking intercepted a Punjab number, A Star car ( PB 46Y/9909) at Poshana bridge. The police party recovered 30 kilograms of poppy straw concerned under other goods in the vehicle.
The car was seized along with consignment and its driver arrested. He has been identified as Kuldip Raj, son of Darshan Kumar, resident of Taran Taran in Punjab. The police registered a case FIR No. 230/ 2018 at Surankote police Station and started investigation to find out source in Kashmir and the destination in Punjab.
