SRINAGAR, Mar 9: Police in Ganderbal today said to have arrested a timber smuggler and seized illicit timber from his possession.
Acting on specific information, a team from led by SHO Police Station Gund under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri- seized a large quantity of illegal timber from the possession of one accused person identified as “Riyaz Ahmed Bajran, son of Mohd Rafiq Bajran, resident of village Hilpati Haknar, Gund. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station,” police said.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 11/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Gund and an investigation has been taken up.
