JAMMU, Nov 12: SOTTO J&K in its fifth event of month-long celebrations of 13th Indian Organ Donation Day organized a Declamation Competition on ‘Organ Donation’ at Sanjeevani Auditorium in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCoN) Katra.
Participant students in the contest were from Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal; Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib; Galaxy Paramedical College, Sainik Colony; Bee Enn College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal; Bee Enn Nursing Institute, Chak Bhalwal; Govt. College of Nursing, Gangyal; Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education Sidhra and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Katra.
Dr. Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director SOTTO presented current scenario of Organ Donation in India and the world explaining reasons for lower rate of organ donation in the country.
Dr. Gopal Sharma, Assistant CEO, SMVD Shrine Board and Administrator, SMVD College of Nursing requested for more such events.
Dr. Shailla Cannie, Principal SMVD College of Nursing motivated the students to be proud Organ Donor by pledging organs for the suffering humanity.
In Hindi Declamation, Anjali Sharma from Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal secured first position, Kajal Kumari from Bee Enn Nursing Institute secured second and Mrichika Gupta from SMVD College of Nursing secured third position.
In English Declamation, Pawandeep Kour from Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib secured first position, Shruti Rathore from SMVD College of Nursing secured second and Kajol Thakur from Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal secured third position.
