KATRA, Aug 30: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Shrine Board here today celebrated its Foundation Day by performing rituals of Pooja, Havan and Yagya at Bhawan, Adhkuwari, Katra, Jammu and other places where the Shrine Board staff and pilgrims participated.
On this occasion employees of Shrine Board took pledge to perform their duties with sincerity and devotion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Shrine Board was formed on this day in 1986.
On this occasion Ramesh Kumar, Shrine Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO) congratulated Shrine Board staff and impressed upon them to work with utmost zeal and dedication for providing continuously improving facilities to the pilgrims visiting Holy Cave Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
He extended gratitude to the Lt Governor who is also Chairman of Shrine Board for his continuous support and guidance under which various initiatives for facilitation of pilgrims were initiated.
The CEO counted some of such initiatives as mobile app, home delivery of Pooja Prasad, round the clock call centre, installation of Hi-Tech video walls and construction of Durga Bhawan.
At Katra, the main function was held at Niharika Complex where special Pooja and Havan was performed with participation of CEO Shrine Board; Vivek Verma, Additional CEO and Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Dy. CEO and others.
